Notes
- The cipher operates on the Latin alphabet only; digits, punctuation, and whitespace pass through unchanged.
- Decryption is simply encryption with the key negated — the same machinery, run in reverse.
- For any key k not coprime with 26, the cipher is its own inverse under a 26-period.
